The Apple iPod was to the world in 2001, presented as an MP3 player. The latest iPod models, up to 160 GB of data and can play not only music but also display games, photos and movies. The smaller iPod models store the digital media on flash drives, but the latest models can save the traditional media on its own hard drive.

The flagship model is the iPod Classic, the 2007 version is a 80 GB or 160 GB Portable Media Center. The 160 GB> IPod can store up to 40,000 songs, and supports MP3, AIFF, AAC, WAV, Apple Lossless and Audible files.

There is also the premium models – the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Touch looks like an iPhone, since it multi-touch user interface, and it is Wi-Fi radio technology. The iPod Nano is a midrange model with a 2-inch display and can play video files. You can play movies, music videos, TV programs and movies from yourown DVD library. The third generation iPod nano has a larger screen and can also play video. The iPod shuffle is the short range model with no display.

The iPod's popularity is due to its small size and easy navigation through the menus using the Click Wheel. The other attractive feature is the integrated iTunes Store, making the media for purchase and downloading easy. The iTunes Store offers music, games, podcasts, movies, music videos and audio –Pounds in a few easy steps. The iTunes software is loaded onto a computer and made a brilliant job with the download, organize, convert and play the files you want. You do not necessarily all of your songs downloaded from the iTunes Store – you can also download from other (legal) download sites, or RIP songs from your CD collection. You still need to use the iTunes software, if these files is from your computer to your iPod. The same for games – theThe iPod comes with preloaded games, but other games can be downloaded from the iTunes Store, as well as other legitimate download sites.
