While there is no protection for the screen (I’ve seen little plastic films available that you could use), the sleeve does cover the touch wheel controls. How is that possible and still be operable? I don’t know, but the part of the sleeve that covers the touch wheel is thin, so whatever slight electromagnetic impulse needed to move the controls must go through it. Some reviewers noted that the controls don’t work through the sleeve. For me, it does. I wonder if really dry hands might be a problem. I’ve had that happen to me on my laptop mousepad before when the humidity was really low – it wouldn’t respond. The sleeve comes in several colors. I just wanted the cheapest (I spent .50, with free shipping, from BuyAccessories), so I choose the the least expensive with the least obnoxious color to me (black with red stripes). Also, they use a ridiculous and near-criminal amount of packaging for such a tiny product (it’s obviously intended for visibility on a rack display in a store).
